Fu quit on the team
I wasn't in the room but Whit never said in the press conference that he told Fu that he was out. Fu wanted a guarantee that he was the coach for next season but Whit couldn't make that guarantee. Fuente should have honored his contract and coached until the end. The captain stays with the ship until the end. Fu bailed from the ship like a RAT!!! I pulled the quote below from Whit's presser.
Justin and I meet every Wednesday. We have for a long time. We met last week. It was at a point in time that I could not tell him with certainty that he would
continue to be the coach here. I said I was strongly considering it. And then at that point, when he realized he would likely not be the next coach, he wanted to move on, and I respect that opinion.
Galen Scott was at Tech a couple years and that's two years too many! I've seen ZERO evidence that Fu tried to replace Corny. I still think Bud's defense was respectable even in down years. The defense tends to tire out and falter when the offense repeatedly generates three and outs. Virginia Tech's lack of offense over the last few decades has put more pressure on the defense. Fu was supposed to deliver a prolific offense but that was a LIE!
Nine wins in the coastal division ain't shit. The coastal has been CRAP for several years and Fu couldn't even achieve dominance over the crappy teams in the coastal division. Tech could have easily achieved nine wins in the coastal if the coaching staff was competent.
