Look at it for a min. Bama coming down the stretch struggled with LSU, Arkansas (kinda), and Auburn. All 1 score games. Needed 4 OT’s to beat Auburn. Don’t tell me they were looking past their rival either. They play GA, with the best defensive numbers we’ve seen in a long time, and beat them by 3 scores. Bama hung 41 on GA who hadn’t given up more than 17 points in a game all year and less than 90 points on the season as a whole. GA plays a good Michigan team in the Semi’s and holds them to 11. Plays Bama in the National Championship, rematch, and holds them to 18, back on brand. The major outlier is that stinkfest GA put up in the SEC Championship where that D looked lost at times. A defense that didn’t even give up 30 total points in the playoffs and one of those was a rematch. I’m sorry but that SEC championship was a foregone conclusion.
