I have posted often about Beatty's obvious prowess in the passing game.

Including (at one time) coaching the top 3 passers in VHSL history - and at 3 different schools. That is a remarkable achievement and is unquestionably directly related to his coaching ability, and innovative ideas.

However, he also has a history of leading teams that have demonstrated unsavory behavior. He has also proven to be a meddler/controller to at least one recruit that VT has recruited.

I like his acumen. I NEVER thought I would see the day he was at VT. But those were the Frank days...I think RJHokie has plenty of reason to be in a "wait and see" mode. I also think Mercury has a point with his "about damn time" approach.

We will see where this goes. But I know one thing...we haven't gone ANYWHERE for a while.
