PIT fans of any sport have a particular strut to them which is good to see whacked down to size. I guess my distaste really started with Pens fans, because I attended many Caps/Pens games when I was little and the invading Pens fans were obnoxious. But once I understood the general predilection of PIT fans I could see it in the Steelers also.

But I had never lived in an area where PIT fans predominate until this part of my life (Western MD). It would give me just such joy to see the kind of sports depression associated with being knocked out by such a bizarre occurrence as a TIE. It might even last 2 or 3 weeks watching folks drag thru the coffee shop with eyes downcast. There are Hokies on lots of NFL teams, so I'm afraid I can't account too much for them -- as far as the Steelers are concerned they would just amount to collateral damage.

Be advised, there are teams I hate worse than the Steelers/Pens though. UNC is the prime example.
