Coach Brooks likes the four guard starting lineup that has played so well the last few games, as long as they hold their own in rebounding. He acknowledged that so far they have. He referred to Baines as their "enforcer" down low, implying that she gets many of the dirty work assignments, and is needed in certain match ups. He's aware that the Offense is more potent with the four guards on the floor at the same time. They could be a match up nightmare for many teams. (Personally, with a bench this short, I don't think it matters too much who starts. At least seven of those players will get all the minutes they can handle.)

The much improved Defense this year was discussed. For the first time, I heard Brooks state that he has given increased responsibilities to Associate Coach Shawn Poppie, with Poppie's main focus and responsibility being working with the Defense, which includes scouts, schemes, planning, coaching, etc. Brooks works more with the Offense. Of course, Kenny has final word on all of it, as he should. Nice to hear him publicly give credit to his associate. Not all Head coaches do that.
