Well, I've experience the same thing with Fu, but the point you make about an assistant not being in his ear likely means, there wasn't one assistant on the defensive staff that had that rational thought to call timeout at the very least, or maybe let em score, but certainly call timout. This means, the DC, and about 3 others missed it, and the Head Coach certainly missed it because he didn't call timeout. That's the scary part, It wasn't just one guy that missed it, it was a group.
