The firing had been in the works for weeks. Don’t believe everything you


hear from a press conference. Trying to spin it as him somehow not being fired is quite the contortionist act. I disagree that all the players who left would have left any way. Believe it or not many of them actually liked Fuente and their position coaches. Again people put too much stock in the handful of guys who scream the loudest on Twitter.

I’m sure you do want to blame Fuente for every single thing that has happened. It’s easier to process when you can focus on a single target. The reality is much more complex than that and the fact is that firing Fuente had fallout involving players leaving. Firing Fuente wasn’t what he or the other coaches wanted so trying to pin all the bad things that have resulted from that is disingenuous at best.

We didn’t lose so baldly yesterday because of Fuente anymore than we beat UVA because of him. We lost yesterday because we had a bunch of lame duck coaches working with a team of backups and reserves. People wanted a coaching change… this is part of that.
