What do youze guys know about inherited IRAs?

So, the wife is inhereting a small IRA that her mother had. Not a huge account, but not insignificant either. The family's guy is recommending we put this is n an "inherited IRA". I've read up on this, and I think I understand the basics. One key takeaway is that we have to withdraw the money within 10 years. And as far as I can tell, this will be taxed like regular income and incur no penalties or fees to take withdrawals. All that sound correct so far?

My gut is wanting to take all this money now. There's enough to pay off the house and cover the taxes (I think). It will essentially double our income for 2022.

So the downside I see is the increased tax hit for 2022, and also likely kick us out of any future stimulus or child tax credit in the future. I don't think there will be a ton of that stuff going forward but who knows.

Teach me up O Wise Lounge. And Thanks!
