Ritonavir has been around for decades so costs as much as dust
Now nirmatrelvir is a newer compound so it’s worth something.
Now most of these “new” drugs are versions of a parent compound (that likely works amazing but will also kill you with side effects) that are manipulated to find the best treatment with least side effects.
6gs for a 30d course is par for the course in todays standards for new antiretrovirals. By the time the docs/pharmacies get the authorizations in place you pay nothing. Just costs get passed down the line
