Something else you may want to have checked out

i had a 4Runner from new till around ~310K miles. Anyway, at around 295K miles the brake lines that ran to the back blew out while driving on Rt 66. When I mashed on the brakes the brake line ruptured and dumped brake fluid all over the road and with no pressure there was no way to stop the vehicle. The mechanics that looked at it said the brake lines should have been replaced due to age. On mine the rupture occurred where the lines ran up underneath the gas tank and to see it they also had to drain and drop the tank. May want to discuss this with a qualified mechanic/repair shop and preemptively run new lines.
