Good reason for the portal to be closed during the season


For football, I’d say close from a week before to a week after the season. Anybody that has been an athlete understands the stress over the course of a season. People lose their cool. Coaches get mad, players get mad. Part of the life of a team is pushing through that. The understanding from pee wee league through college is you signed up for the team, you give it the full season

I’d exclude bowl games from that however, and nothing applies now for the Hokies because we’ve fired the coaching staff the team signed up to play for
