The GR-86 is slower, but pulls more lateral Gs.
The new Z will battle the Supra, not the GR-86. I think the new Z will come with a twin turbo V6. The 86 has a naturally aspirated flat 4. It's a 2.4L 4-banger, so it's a big 4, but 230 HP is a bit shy of the Z's ~350+ hp
The 86 is light, agile, and it pulled .99 lateral Gs on the skid pad...that's amazing! There aren't many cars that pull that many lateral Gs, and none are in the low $30s.
