A shame .. most certainly! Unfair?... not really

We're just lucky that our ancestors moved us to the top of the food chain so that we can live such low risk lives and assume that it's always supposed to be that way. While facing a sabre tooth, I doubt our ancestors would have thought "life is so unfair". They probably just cursed for having made the mistake that put them in that position.

Sometime in the next 5 - 50,000 years, Yellowstone is going to change the nature of all life on the planet, and our view of what is "fair" will instantly change.
