Still, our vaunted defense really let us down today. Even though Wake was torching the nets from outside, we also gave up an awful lot of gimmies down low which we don't usually do.

On offense, the whole team seems tentative. We finally started attacking the basket in the second half after being far too timid in the first half, which is good. But then our guys started passing up wide open shots. I'm all for making the extra pass if somebody has a better look. But if you've got an open look and your team is built as a perimeter shooting team, you have to take it.

But there are a lot of games left. We need to forget about this one and move on.
