The culture of notre dame is you represent notre dame. Coaches with ego who want credit for himself is not supported. Kelly was all about kelly and felt he wasn't getting enough credit. His staff was tight and love notre dame and they have tremendous recruiting this year and next. They were recruited by the staff not kelly. Its amazing all the staff endorsed freemam for the job. Even the oc. This is not rocket scientist.

Also they dont want to lose their recruits while waiting for another coach

Fickell is a devote family guy. He not going to leave cincy during the playoff run. Very principled ..money not the most important ,, fit is everything
