After the Syracuse game I was talking to an alumni at a sports bar in Blacksburg. He claimed that the decision was already made to release Fuente before December 5th to avoid losing recruits. When I said I didn’t think VT could afford the buyout, he said big donors were already willing to pay the tab and that Fuente would be willing to make a deal. He also said that Whit had a verbal agreement with the new coach. His was feeling no pain, so I didn’t take him seriously.

Well he has been right up to now, so maybe he really does have inside knowledge. Maybe the HC or coordinator has a game on Dec 3 or 4 (as numerous posts have surmised)and won’t announce till after that game. I’m going with Whit has this all under control and we’ll know sometime on Dec 3 or 4. Fuente didn’t work out, but I like Young, so hopefully Whit continues to improve with experience.

By the way, I’m hoping for Campbell or Huff, which won’t happen if the scenario above is correct.
