because we felt a lock for the Peach Bowl at 9-2. Then UNC Coach Crum refused to play us in that game, said VT was not in the same class as UNC. We got snubbed.

That day- 48-0, I remember our fullback Tony Paige knocked out so many cavaliers blocking for Cyrus Lawrence. It was a beat down. 48 points is a lot when it's a running clock- we never threw the ball, all runs down their throat. Something like 8 players carried off the field that day. Will never forget it.
