SEC is absolutely more pressure
Was reading last year during the annual end-of-season coaching carousel where Hugh Freeze was a popularly mentioned candidate and came across an interview about what happened at Ole Miss. He was very candid about what the pressure to win in the SEC did to him and how he allowed that to compromise everything he believed in. At some point you have to balance the ego part of you who wants the money, challenge, and prestige against the amount of pressure and scrutiny you will receive in the SEC. I'd say VT is a place where you win but not have the pressure to compete for the MNC every since year. You can set yourself up financially as well. Winning the Coastal most years and the ACC title every few years is very doable. Maybe that's good enough.
