A more nuanced (or possibly OM glasses) perspective was that DMF didn’t intentionally pull on or gain an advantage from it and the mat setup created a situation where the edge was peeling slightly upward for whatever reason instead of being flush. As I’m sure you recall, it was the first dual in their new wrestling facility but I haven’t watched any duals since to know if the mat still lies like that or if they fasten/tape it down at the edges now.
