The Board wanted to run him off. Then I remember watching a VT scrimmage before a football game at beginning of his sophomore year and turning to my son and saying he's the best player on the court. That's how quickly he improved. SP is going to be overmatched this season by ACC guards this season. But my guess is he will be fine by next year
