Treated well here?
People were calling for his head in 2019 on an 8 win season. Largely because of the 2018 season ugliness (giant defensive fail all year). He had a target on his back, and was always going to have a struggle being the man after the man.
I just can't see where he has gotten a fair shake. I'm not saying he was the 2nd coming, I think he probably hurt himself with performing above expectations in yr 1 and 2. It falsely inflated hopes and expectations. There still a huge drop in infrastructure in the VT program in comparison to other programs we should be "above". I happened to come across an article that SU added funding to Dino to get more analysts after his 1 win season. SU has 3 or 4 analysts...we have 1. Someone want to explain that?!?! It this a failure of Fu saying, "Nope, we don't need analysts" Of course not, its VT failure to be competent in football support.
I do think the team should be performing better....I do think there are issues within the program. I also feel like much could have been remedied with money and support influx at the proper times. We failed in doing that...but instead of acknowledgment of this - many just blame the HC.
He has had mistakes - I think he has taken steps to remedy them. Specifically the ones within control to remedy (i.e. in state recruiting focus).
