...than spend huge money and still achieve mediocrity. College football is a professional sport now, and VT will never be competitive with the dominant programs in the new landscape. And honestly, I'd prefer it that way...I believe being competitive would require some less-than-ethical practices that I'd prefer to not see Tech dip its toes in.

I realize this isn't a popular stance, but I don't watch sports anymore, and I honestly wouldn't care if VT became an FCS program. I'm just sick of the farce that major college athletics have anything to do with academics.
