... and yet I think it is true that JMU has previously voted to uphold and enforce this very same rule against others who have left the conference in years past.

It is a shame that the athletes and the fans pay the price, but it seems disingenuous for JMU to profess themselves as living by the Golden Rule.

I didn't like how we (VT) conducted ourselves when it looked like others were leaving the Big East, only for us to quickly defect to the ACC. Way too easy for everyone to sing the song a little differently once they're looking at things from a different perspective.
