My interpretation of what you are seeing is as follows(and I've attached seating chart link to help visualize).

West "Indoor Club" seats are the seats actually inside the West Side structure, behind the plexiglass etc.

West "Outdoor Club" seats are in the upper parts of Section 8-14(I think?), marked on the map. They offer outdoor seating wih regular seats and cupholders instead of the bleacher seats elsewhere. (Think the lower level seats at the Diamond). These seats also give you access to an indoor area with concessions and bathrooms without much line to deal with.

I think the "Zone Seats" are End Zone club, which are like the West Outdoor seats, only in the endzone. I think on the map they are the 200 level seats....

I moved to West Outdoor Club this season, also for medical reasons. Abdominal surgery left me in a position where I wouldn't be able to handle the regular bleachers anymore, and ease of access to the restroom is also a big plus.

As for hotels. There may be rooms available in Christiansburg, but they will be $200+ with a 2-night min. You may want to consider looking in the Salem/Roanoke area, where it will be cheaper and won't have a multi-night requirement.
