He's saying some places are easier to recruit to without an in-person visit. I don't think that's entirely wrong. I don't fully buy the point the poster is making either. However, Blacksburg and VT may seem a bit off the beaten path for many. Then, if they come visit, see the new facilities, and experience the gameday atmosphere, they may think more highly of the program. It may help VT a smidge more than it helps some other programs. Nonetheless, I don't think in-person visits are the best explanation of the improved recruiting. I think it is the better facilities and the improved recruiting staff.
