sorry if i made it sounded like most guns deaths were accidental- i think I've seen it is 1 or 2 percent . But even that would seem to justify some limited training/knowledge requirements. And more serious background checks to keep idiots from getting guns.

Are those two modest steps going to stop mayhem on the streets of some cities? Of course not. But we can save some lives with not a tremendous amount of effort. I just dont buy the "slippery slope" arguments that some use to fight common sense gun reforms.
