I've got about a 40 year old Maytag washer still going strong

I have had to repair it a couple of times, but the repairs were all well under $100, not the $700 repairs you tend to get with a moderns washer.

Not to be an echo chamber, a new Speed Queen sure looks an awful lot like my 40 yo Maytag. I think that's about the only washer that is still made like they used to.

Technically, Speed Queen is no more reliable than any other brand. It's just cheap and easy to repair when it's needed.
