I was allergic as a kid. Been stung a few times since but only bad

Reaction I have had since then was mowing over Yellowjacket ground nest got hit three times and broke out in hives on my back and scalp. Went to our local volunteer fire dept and the guy gave me a shot of Benadryl. Cleared up but whenever I get stung now I take Benadryl quickly and see if I have anymore reactions. I do keep epicene in the house just in case
