There's a good string of places that all had something unique from HS golf

We always (late 80s/early 90s) had a preseason tournament at Herndon and I still remember a shot that I hit there for some reason. Another preseason tourney was down at Quantico and I had one year where the team played that one fairly hungover. I think at the time your home course wouldve been CC of Fairfax or Chantilly?

District tourney was usually Ft. Belvoir (horrible finishing par 3) or Mt Vernon CC (fantastic all around). Algonkian for regionals - I remember that one had a nearly treeless front and a wooded back 9 that was more difficult - but in total, a bad course for a regional tourney.

I loved playing HS golf - would recommend to anyone.
