It all depends on what you prefer. Our beaches are prettier. However Clearwater is very nice as well as Lido and others. What we love about Tampa is you can still get a hometown feel with the perks of a city. Their airport is fantastic. My husband isn’t retiring anytime soon so we would rather be closer to a major hub. We still hope to retire by age 56. We like the south shore area of Hillsborough county. But a place we looked at 2 years ago is now priced 35% higher
