...WVU had talked about making sure we (VT) were included in the BE expansion, but they took a step back and let us remain a "football only" member for several more years. When we were finally allowed to play BB+, the BE gave us the highest buy in that's ever been required by any school in the history of college athletics, before or since. So glad we escaped that Chicken poop conference!

I don't remember WVU stepping up to say that was too high of a price. Guess they wanted some of our money too.
