WVU ran the opening kickoff in for a TD. The Sharks were moving the ball on them early then made some stupid penalties and it went downhill from there. WV had one play in the first quarter where it was like 4th and 16 from their 45 and they went for it and converted. They had little respect for LIU defense. The Sharks were just elevated last year from D2 to D1-AA (FSC) so out of 128 D1-AA teams, their preseason ranking was 124 out of 128, which seems about right. Interestingly MTSU is an FBS Division 1-A program and ranked 104 out of all FBS schools nipping on the heels of Arizona and Duke. Tech should be scheduling LIU before a tough game to allow an extra week of preparation. Since Tech is ranked and WVU is battling future of the conference issues, I fear this may turn into a 2003 fiasco except West Virginia doesn't have the tools they did back then but Tech doesn't either.
