My son is a senior and lost a year in one of his college sports. Was hoping this year was going to be more normal, but it's not (and his school has done a LOT better job than VT and other big schools of maintaining as much normalcy as possible). He still has academic and athletic scholarship money next year but is seriously considering just moving on and remembering his freshman and 2/3 of his sophomore year fondly and trying to forget the rest.

My daughter is nothing but a huge ball of anxiety. The second week into her freshman year, she was a close contact and is shut down even though she is vaxxed AND has had covid. She lost 10 days of very difficult gains made and has to start over after a week of being literally locked in her room. And now she's in the internal hell of direct contacts. She will never test positive, but if she's a direct contact she gets shut down. She'd be better off getting covid. Right now, she's an emotional wreck.
