I have been increasingly optimistic about this team and coaching staff since the spring. Friday was encouraging on a number of fronts. First, with a bunch of recruits in house, we played very well and had a great crowd. Second, there were multiple comments made about Tech looking faster than UNC. That's generally a sign of good coaching, where players know where they are supposed to be and get there fast. I don't think we are really faster than UNC, but we looked like it. Third, the players and coaches really seemed amped up and on the same page. Great unity on display. Given the recent improvements in recruiting and the energy displayed by the recruiting staff, my hope and belief is we'll continue to recruit well and retain the quality players currently committed. Friday can only help on that front. I'm finding these players and coaches easy to root for. It's just one win, but I like the direction of the program.
