What I want to know is...

...how do you eliminate all other variables in these real world studies? I mean, people who wear masks are also probably much more likely to have good personal hygiene and wash their hands frequently than those who refused to wear a mask at any time. How do we know what impact those measures have? I'm not arguing that wearing a mask probably helps at least a little bit, and in most cases, does no harm, and I don't personally have an issue with wearing a mask. But I do find the data thrown out to support the claims of mask efficacy to be a little bit flimsy.
