Are estate sales harder to find the further south you go? I know where

my mom is from (Orange), it seems like you can't ride out on a Saturday without stumbling on multiple estate sales in a very small radius. Now living in South Carolina, it seems they are not as frequent and much further apart.
I know people have probably scaled back in the last year with the virus but I've noticed it was like that the whole dozen years we have lived here.
Any thoughts or experience to share?
