I'm sure it's my age and what the college game meant to me "back in the day" compared to today. But college football had true super-stars back 20-30 years ago, at a different level than what we have today. Most players didn't leave early back then, or transfer, so they built a huge name over a couple of years. Bosworth, Desmond Howard, Michael Irvin, Charlie Ward, Sapp, and on and on. Those guys would be raining money with this NIL rule. Actually, half of them probably did anyway on the side. But headlines like this one would have been the norm back then with those names in the game.
