VT had a different vibe than most of the other teams I follow (Bears, Mets, Blackhawks). The stadium was always full and one of the loudest in the country, the team won more often than not, and there was a real identity (hard nosed, physical football with nasty run defense).

Literally all of that is gone now. Somebody made a note in this thread that Lane is sold out for this game. That used to be a given. Nobody fears coming to Blacksburg anymore than they dread going to Wake. The defense set a record for yards per play allowed a couple of years ago, almost all of it on the ground.

It's just not fun following VT anymore.
