Rita were bearing down. School was telling them to sit tight. Wifey#1 (divorced) kept calling me at work asking “ what are you going to do about YOUR son “(she was his mater) . I got him a plane ticket and called him and gave him an hour to make a choice…. Get to airport and fly home or get in his vehicle and get out of Texas. He was pissed but he and a couple buds jumped in car and went to some Oklahoma college to party with friends. He thanked me later as they beat the crowds that shut down the highways and had folks dying in the heat.
