It looks like Nebraska might have been a tougher opponent in '99 based on their schedule but I think Vick was a one-man army who would have kept Tech in every game. Alabama lost that year to a good-not great La Tech team.

That 2007 year sticks out to me. I thought Tech was going to make the championship based on the computer rankings but the voters lowered Tech in the polls and LSU moved up to the championship game. LSU obviously deserved to go to the championship but I always thought teams weren't voted down after a win.
