Most likely, yes, but from a financial standpoint...


If the Big 12 continues on as a conference (with or without adding members), the winner stands a really good shot of getting an auto-bid. Assuming the remaining "P4" champs get auto-bids, there's always the possibility that say, the Mountain West and American champions (or an unbeaten like Coastal Carolina in the SunBelt) grab the other two.

I think most years, though the Big 12 winner would be in, particularly if they added a few new members like Cincinnati, UCF or BYU.

The Big 12's TV contract goes in the tank minus Texas and Oklahoma though. What the remaining members gain in potential playoff access, they're going to lose on the guaranteed $$$ end.
