My experience with a COVID breakthrough case

Symptoms emerged 7/18, tested positive 7/19, quarantine ended 7/29. The 10 day quarantine was hardest; I stayed in the basement, away from all family members. It went from mild flu for about 3 days, to a bad cold for 2-3 days, then bad allergies with sinus congestion for about a week. After 3 weeks, I was fully recovered. There was a little lingering fatigue into the 3rd week, but that was it. At no point did I consider going to the hospital.
I'm 45, active and healthy with no pre-existing conditions and a healthy bodyweight (that last factor seems to be the biggest indicator for complications, aside from age).
I had J&J back in April, not sure where exactly I contracted the virus. I was out quite a bit without a mask for the 2 weeks prior to symptoms. I was with friends and/or family at every place where I could have contracted the virus, and no one else had symptoms. Those in my household were tested twice (when my symptoms emerged and after quarantine was over) and were negative both times. The only difference is that everyone I know has one of the mRna vaccines, and I had J&J.
I'm glad that I was vaccinated, it was a good choice for me. A friend tested positive before the vaccine was available, and he had minor symptoms. He said the worst part was the fear that things were going to get worse. I knew that I was going to get better, not worse.
