The preseason poll creates a bias to start the season


Yes, it's usually wrong, but moving forward, teams like UNC and Miami will get the benefit of the doubt because they were 'supposed' to be good. They will get the TV spots and better coverage because they're more likely to stay ranked (unless the wheels come completely off by Week 4).

Being on the outside looking in is never a good thing.
