8 is my preference


12 was a near certainty prior to the Texas/Oklahoma defection. Now, due to the circumstances of their defection and ESPN's involvement, not the defection itself, 8 is a real possibility. CFP8 will cool the jets on conference expansions and leave Texas twisting. The Loghorns "might" make the playoffs as the 5th or 6th best team in the SEC. They will never get there if there are only 8 slots.
