Watching Men’s Field Hockey final. Got some questions.

Seems to be no checking or physical play, which I would think would help the offense. However, those little sticks seem to make crisp passing a real challenge, thereby keeping the score down. There is been only one goal through three quarters so far.

Have I figured this game out after watching it for about 15 minutes? :)
