Most high level baseball staffs have anywhere from 5-8 positions that ....

basically make up the "staff" element of an ACC/SEC type of program. We have 7 staff members that is pretty much on the higher end of staffing. I am not talking about the dedicated academic advisor, or strength coach or the Admin AD. Talking direct program staffers that interact with the program on a daily basis. The NCAA has continually limited the number of coaches, even though baseball has tried to get one more coach added based on the roster sizes. Therefore the 4th coach is technically a volunteer assistant. We also have a Director of Operations, a Player Development person, and a consultant. Our player development person basically deals with stats, and the baseball analytics of the program......he also has some students that help him with the analytics piece of the program. From a staffing standpoint, we are in good shape numbers wise and role wise. On par with anyone in the two best leagues in the country.
Facilities wise, we are also in very good shape........our clubhouse, hitting facility, meeting rooms, etc are top shelf. In addition, we are getting to add a pitching lab, a dedicated weight room in the Weaver facility/clubhouse, and a virtual reality technology program. We will not be missing anything at that point.......We will not be behind at all on the grand scheme of things....the only thing we don't have is a visiting locker room, but that doesn't impact the VT kids/program. Our total facility is beautiful and is very nice. The seating capacity is not quite as large as some, but it provides all of the same things as any park that is bigger, and has some elements that are nicer than some of our most direct competitors.....
Our program does have to raise somewhere in the range of $150K outside of the budget given by the Department each year to offer some incidental items (i.e. meals). That is done through some sport specific giving, the One Run Club, and other means of private solicitations......All in all, we have a very strong package to sell, offer, and win with......We just have to keep building the support base, and of course, win. But we won't be lacking much of anything moving forward......
