Funny thing about Claytor Lake skiing interesting conversations on that H2O

Esp. north of bridge near Little Wytheville.
* Loss of Galen Scott was huge blow on multiple VT fronts...
* Replacement for Foster, whose health was known to be sliding south...
* Player's-Coach - who had the best ear to the players & capable of having hard/tough/loud conversations with players who required 'tough talk' at times. (Adonis prime example).
* Chewed AA's ass out almost daily but was in his arms crying together when told AA was academically ineligible.. made tough call to Mom in CLT...told her he (Scott) would help him get to the league and he did, working with him 1:1 at times.
* Odom (desired) hire was mishandled internally
* DL size (or lack thereof) major point of contingence between Coach Wiley & Coach Fuente

To address Starting thread though: One of the biggest issue for VT Recruiting is loss of relationship at strategic High Schools across that are critical to VT success...happened in 804, 757, 704, 336 and 910... great news is feedback from Smith and Hamilton has been outstanding & Shibest is well respected on the circuit... those are key going forward. But biggest help was COVID-19 and use of Zoom where coaches and kids got to see more of Coach Fuente... have been told that by 4 HS Coaches in NC.

NOTHING though will help recruiting more than the HOKIE Nation coming out and selling out Lane Stadium on Sept 3, being loud as HELL to help Coach Hamilton get some offsides and burn a few time outs by UNC and the team stomping the Tarheels into Lane's soil on National TV...
