This is why I get frustrated when any one "side" claims that...


...their beliefs are based on "science", as if that slams the case shut in their favor. Science rarely produces a consensus (particularly in leading-edge fields of study) and instead often results in two or more differing opinions strongly defended by the camps that hold them. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?

I'm not saying that scientific truth is relative or that you can have "alternative facts" when it comes to scientific research...rather, I'm just pointing out that scientific research is done by humans, and humans are fallible, stubborn, and have a strong desire to be correct. As a result, we can't simply accept something as fact just because a scientist presents it as such. Often there are plenty of other scientists who disagree.

This isn't aimed at you, McLovin...just speaking generally.
