Yes, it is nice that VT has gotten to play Notre Dame

However, if the ACC had not offered Notre Dame this sweet deal, then what opportunities did VT miss out on because Notre Dame was on the schedule? For example, VT could have had the opportunity to play a marquee opponent in Jerry's World, a game @Hawai'i, a neutral site game in the Raiders' new stadium, or a marquee home-home series. Even if the opponent isn't as glamourous as Notre Dame, fans may view the experience as being on par with playing Notre Dame (home or away).
