But it's also the simple truth that VT has a feeble tradition and system for fundraising in the first place, and that's probably not going to change. For VT to compete with the big national powers, VT alumi need to give at the level that the SEC schools, Clemson, Ohio State, etc. alumni do. I don't see that ever happening.
